14 January 2013 - Epcot - Tampa

Welcome to Disney World
Where Dreams Come True
Bill often comes up with "a perfect plan" and my Christmas present was no exception and an epic surprise.  He was flabbergasted years ago when he found out that, although I'd been to Disneyland (almost) centuries ago, I'd never been to Disney World and it wasn't even on my bucket list.

For several months we've been on an information-gathering quest for the purchase of a motor home that is our plan 18-24 months from now.  We'd like to leave our boat in the NY area and spend summers cruising the Canadian and NY waters.  Our summer of 2012 up there really excited our hunger to spend more time in that area.  There are many cities in our country that are inaccessible by boat so we'd like to visit those places by motor home.  There is a gargantuan RV show beginning in Tampa this Wednesday as well as RV related seminars at Lazy Days, the largest RV dealer in the nation. My sweet husband orchestrated a day at Epcot yesterday (we walked 8 1/2 miles there) and a week here in Tampa.  Now I wonder why Epcot was never on my wish list!

Spaceship Earth
Epcot was wonderful!  Fortunately, or otherwise, we were there with 4000 participants of the Disney 5K/10K/half marathon/marathon.

Goofy's friend, Mickey, has LOTS of money!
We met 2 marathoners from Chicago who were in Orlando for the more than severalth time so they made sure we didn't miss some of their favorite things that we may've otherwise missed---it's difficult to see it all in one day.  They were really fun and after the marathon they were still an abundance of energy and enthusiasm.

Gardens in the country of France

This was one of our favorite things!

Every day at 9 PM, masses gather for the daily $60 THOUSAND fireworks show and this is ONLY at Epcot.

Today is our first day at Lazy Days RV dealership and it's absolutely mind-blowing.  When I saw the lot I told Bill that I hoped they had a mass transit system because there are literally acres of motor homes!  Limo golf carts are scooting around everywhere so walking is just another option.  We had lunch with a couple and a (new) widow who were a wealth of information and are very experienced and knowledgeable about RV-ing.  We picked their brains because our learning curve is still straight up.  We will not return home this coming weekend as new motor home owners but with a broader knowledge base.

We're loving the warm FL temps and our mini-vacation.
