8 July 2013 Wilmington, NC - Mile Hammock Bay, NC.

Our view at departure from Wilmington

We are exuberant!  We dropped our lines and left Wilmington, NC, this morning just after first light.  Rolling out is difficult but getting in on the genesis of a new dawn is an ethereal moment.  24 days was our stay, initially intended for a week.  Being there was very pleasant but we have too much vagabond in our blood to stay anywhere very long.
Battleship North Carolina

This was a glorious day on the water and we had it to ourselves.  We're now anchored in Mile Hammock Bay enjoying a cool evening and pleasant breeze.

Above is 4th of July from Wrightsville Beach Bridge.

Above is today as we went under Wrightsville Beach Bridge.  Now you can under why we tarried in Wilmington.

Tomorrow we'll get another early start and cruise to Cedar Creek near Beaufort, NC.  We have friends there whom we're eager to see.
